Obtaining a Building Permit

All permit applications must be submitted using our online permitting system, CloudPermit. Once all required information is entered and/or uploaded, our department will review the submission. The applicant will be notified whether the permit is approved or if additional information is needed.

Please note that any missing information can delay the processing of your permit. A building permit will be released once the review is approved and payment has been received. The estimated review time varies according to the complexity of the project. On average, it takes seven to fourteen business days.

Payments can be made in person at City Hall (22647 Racine St., Robertsdale, AL 36567) or by mail to PO Box 429, Robertsdale, AL 36567. Online payments and phone payments are not currently available.

Jurisdiction and Site Plan Review

If your address is being rejected, it may be because it is not located within our building jurisdiction. Starting July 27, 2023, the City of Robertsdale will no longer issue building permits beyond our city limits.

To check your property, use the Baldwin County Parcel Viewer. Select “City Limits” in the filters and search by address or PIN.

For properties outside Robertsdale city limits, contact the Baldwin County Building Department at 251-972-6837.

Commercial Construction

All new commercial construction and additions in Robertsdale require a Code Analysis Summary. New commercial builds must submit a full site plan for review per the Land Use Ordinance.

Refer to Article IX for requirements, including a dimensioned site plan, grading plan, and landscape plan.
