City Hall / Utilities

Where is City Hall located?

Our office is located at 22647 Racine Street, Robertsdale, Alabama. We are one block behind Danny's Fried Chicken on the west side of Highway 59 South.

When are utility bills due?

They are due upon receipt and are late if paid after the 15th. Please see the Utilities Page for further information.

When and where does the City Council meet?

The City Council meets the 1st Monday of each month at 6:00 pm (Workshop at 5:00 pm) and the 3rd Monday of each month at 8:00 am in the Council Chambers at City Hall. (Meeting dates and times may vary due to holidays or other conflicts.)

How do I get something on the City Council agenda?

Contact the City Clerk or the Mayor to request that an item be placed on the agenda.

Who do I contact about renting the PZK Civic Center?

Where do I get a building permit?

All permit applications are submitted online using Cloudpermit.

How do I request public records?

Complete a Request for Public Records form and submit it to the City Clerk per the attached policy.

Municipal Court

Where is the Magistrate's Office located?

Robertsdale City Hall, 22647 Racine St., Robertsdale, AL.

What are your hours of operation?

Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Court is held on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month except in November and December.

How do I contact Baldwin County offices?

These offices are not located at Robertsdale Municipal Court. Call 251-943-5061 to reach the Baldwin County Call Center for assistance.

Where is my violation indicated on a ticket?

It is listed on the front of your traffic citation by the officer’s name with a numeric code and description of the violation.

How do I find out my court date?

Check the bottom of your traffic citation for your action due date (first appearance date). You must either plead guilty and pay your fines or plead not guilty and appear before a Traffic Court Judge by that date.

How do I plead guilty?

You may plead guilty for minor traffic citations by appearing before a magistrate and paying your fines and fees. Payments can be made online, by mail (P.O. Box 429, Robertsdale, AL 36567), or in person at Municipal Court.

How do I plead not guilty?

Appear in court on your assigned date. If you plead not guilty, a trial will be held and the judge will rule. You may appeal the decision within 14 days if found guilty.

What should I do about an outstanding warrant?

Turn yourself in to the Robertsdale Police Department. After processing, you may post bond and receive a court date. For details, contact the Magistrate’s Office at 251-947-8910.

Can I reschedule my court appearance?

If your court date has not passed, call 251-947-8910. If you have an attorney, they may request a continuance.

Can someone else pay my ticket?

No, the clerk must witness your signature on the waiver of rights on the back of the ticket.

What if I received a ticket for no proof of insurance?

If you had coverage at the time, bring proof to court. If not, you must appear in court. If you obtained insurance afterward, bring proof — the charge may be dismissed but court costs will apply.

How can I find out the exact amount of my fine?

The municipal judge determines the amount based on the charge. Fines may be up to $500 plus court costs. Some charges (e.g., DUI) carry higher fines.

Can I pay my fine after court?

Yes. Payment is expected at court, but you may ask to set up a payment plan through probation services.

What information do I need to obtain a warrant?

File a police report first. You’ll need the name, address, DOB/age, employer, and phone number of the person. A report is required before a warrant is issued.

Why is my license suspended?

If you didn’t pay a ticket on time, your license was suspended by the Alabama Department of Public Safety. Pay the ticket and call 334-242-4400 to resolve your reinstatement.

How do I get a PFA (Protection From Abuse) or Restraining Order?

PFAs are filed through the Baldwin County Circuit Clerk’s Office in Bay Minette (251-937-0280). Restraining Orders must be filed through an attorney.

Who has to purchase a business license?

Anyone conducting business in Robertsdale must have a license before operating. This includes offering goods/services, soliciting, or making deliveries.

Does this include home-based businesses?

Yes. Home businesses must meet zoning requirements and be approved by the Zoning Board of Adjustments.

Can I sell items from the roadside?

No, roadside sales on public rights-of-way are not allowed. With written property owner permission and a transient vendor license, you may sell on private property.

How much does a business license cost?

Costs vary by business type. Licenses are based on categories and annual gross receipts.

What taxes does the Revenue Department administer?

Business License, Sales/Use/Rental Tax, Liquor Tax, Gasoline Tax, Cigarette & Tobacco Tax, Beer Tax, Wine Tax.

What if a tax due date falls on a weekend or holiday?

Payments postmarked or delivered on the next business day are accepted. Call to confirm holiday filing schedules.

Can I pay taxes online?

Yes, if you have a Robertsdale account number. Use the Alabama Dept. of Revenue’s Self-Administered Jurisdictions site. Call 251-947-8920 for help.
