The Engineering Department is located in City Hall at 22647 Racine Street in Robertsdale.

The Engineering Department is responsible for administering Robertsdale’s Land Use Ordinance and Building Codes as well as performing engineering services for city projects.

Obtaining a Building Permit
1. Complete & Submit Building Permit Request Form (See form for additional required documents.)
2. Complete and Submit Land Use Certificate Application. (If not located within the corporate limits of the City of Robertsdale a Land Use Certificate may be required by Baldwin County. Please contact the Baldwin County Planning & Zoning Department at 251-972-8523)
3. Complete and Submit a Subcontractor List.
4. All permit fees, impact fees (if applicable), and utility tap fees and deposits must be paid at time of issuance of permit. These will be calculated once a complete Building Permit Request Form and required documents have been submitted and reviewed.

Obtaining a Building Permit
1. Fill out a Building Permit Request Form.
2. Bring application and any additional required information to the Building Inspection Department located at Robertsdale City Hall at 22657 Racine Street Robertsdale, AL. Turnaround time for the plans to be approved is approximately 4 business days. When it is approved, the permit will be issued and a placard created for the job site.
3. Go to City Hall and pay for the permit.
NOTE: All new construction for commercial properties must go before the Robertsdale Planning Commission for a sketch plan review before a permit is issued. All commercial properties must also have a landscape plan. See Article XI.
